TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF MEMBERSHIP
- Full membership of the Charity shall be open to any person of Bangladeshi origin or descent over the age of 18 years who is interested in furthering its objects and who:
- is resident in the Metropolitan Borough of Rochdale,
- has completed the Charity’s Application for Membership form and paid the subscription appropriate at the time,
- has been accepted for membership by the Executive Committee, and
- promises to obey and follow the Rules and Regulations as laid out in the constitution of the Charity.
- Each Full Member shall have one vote, which shall become operative, 28 days after his or her acceptance as a member of the Charity.
- Any of the following will lead to membership lapsing:
- failure to renew the membership annually by paying the subscription appropriate at the time,
- undertaking any activity openly or secretly which may be detrimental to the interest of the Charity,
- using or occupying anything unlawfully belonging to the Charity.
- Accept the judgement of the Executive Committee at all times.
- The Executive Committee may, by two/thirds majority vote and for good reason, terminate the membership of any individual. The individual concerned shall have the right to be heard by the Executive Committee, accompanied by a friend or another person, before a final decision is made. The individual shall have the right to a written reason for termination.
- To obtain membership, any two proofs of identity need to be produced: (i) Utility Bill (ii) Medical Card (iii) Passport or Driving Licence. If the photograph and address appear on the same ID, one may suffice provided the proof of your Bangladeshi origin can be determined from this ID.
